About Us
Joel P. Ammar began his career as a Chef in his native Lyon, France. When he moved to the United States more than 30 years ago, he noticed that many of the high-quality ingredients he had grown up with in France’s Rhône Valley were difficult to find.
In 1994, Joel founded his first food import and distribution company and has worked in the specialty food industry ever since. Decades of experience sourcing, importing, packing, and distributing food led him to his latest venture, Juliette Foods.
Through its trademarked brand, SUNHILL NATURALS™, Juliette Foods specializes in locally packed nuts, dried fruits, granola, seeds, and other wholesome snacks. The company works with retailers and specialty food businesses throughout the region, combining carefully selected products with responsive, hands-on service.
Joel built Juliette Foods from a single delivery van into a distribution network serving hundreds of retailers. That growth has been rooted in a simple idea: good products and good partnerships matter just as much as efficient distribution.
Juliette Foods also provides private-label services for specialty retail chains and other distributors, offering a flexible alternative to larger, less personal wholesale operations. By keeping relationships close and the supply chain as direct and transparent as possible, the company is able to respond quickly to its customers while supporting strong local business partnerships.
